The concepts of personality and individuality (IF16)

It is our intention to try to make you understand what we mean when we talk about "personality”, And what we mean when we speak of“ individuality ”, of the individual, trying, according to our abilities, to make you understand also where the difference between these two terms lies; This is so that later we can continue talking to you using these terms, confident that you can understand us. fabius

The words that I will have to give you tonight are quite difficult words, shades of definitions, and perhaps also because I have not understood them completely well even io.
You must understand, dear ones, that to do this task I am not helped by the Guides, but I am simply told: these words must necessarily have an adequate definition of what our teaching has been up to now, therefore, my dear Boris, get busy, try to understand as much as possible, try to use the simplest terms possible and then propose them to the Circle; eventually, if your proposals do not go well, we will then take care of modifying them, when the time is right.
Of course knowing that there are Guides, as supervisors, gives me comfort; but there is always that tip of Io that I still carry with me and that is sorry for the fact that I run the risk of saying nonsense, and therefore making a bad impression.
Let's move on to define these three words which are: individual, individuality, personality.
I would define individuality what is called, usually in the esoteric field, the first emanation of the Absolute, or the first detachment of what is called Drop, (which had been spoken of some time ago) from the union with the Whole.
It is called instead individual, the path that this drop makes through his evolution, in the course of births and rebirths, through the various planes of existence; this is why very often the Guides speak not of "being", not of "entity" and so on, but of the individual, precisely because this is a much more generic term and much more understandable than what entity can be.
If we want to tackle the subject from the point of view of the spiritual planes, we can say that it suits us, for a certain logic then of the discourse, to say that the individual can be defined as that part of the entity that can be imagined composed of akasic body and then from the other spiritual bodies; so so when you were told that the entity was the set of various bodies of the individual outside the physical one, in the same way we can say that the individual is constituted by the akasic plane and by the other spiritual planes and therefore the resultant of these plans.
Personality, on the surface it is a much simpler term to define, because all of you more or less have an idea of the psychological definition. However I would define it this way: personality is the resultant of impulses, of the influences of the mental body, of the astral body, of the physical body, within the physical plane; it is what manifests itself in the individual, that is, in the spiritual part of him. 1. Knowing the meanings of the terms helps to clarify, which is fundamental when the Guides expose their explanations.
    Thank you.

  2. If by individuality we mean the drop, that is the first emanation of the absolute, then individuality includes all the individuals who take shape in the course of the evolutionary process. Did I get it right?

  3. We answer the questions asked by quoting the terms provided by the Guides.

    For Nadia:
    Drop, spark, soul, self
They are various synonyms of the same concept, and indicate that deeper part of the individual which is always and in any case, even if the individual is not aware of it, united with the Absolute.

    Individuality
The totality of being, from the Spark to its eventual incarnation on the physical plane.

    Individual
The part of the individuality constituted by the seven bodies formed by the matter of the different planes of existence. Term used essentially to indicate the complex of characteristics that belong to each of us for an entire incarnation.

I would say that Drop and Individuality are not exactly the same thing, even if individuality is closely related to the Drop, and I believe that your consideration is acceptable.

    For Katia:
It seems to me that the definition given by the Guides is enough to clarify what you are asking.

    Character / Personality
The Guides mean by the term 'character' all the physiological part of the individual which constitutes the basis of the individual embodied. More simply, we can define it as all the genetic characteristics that constitute the set of basic physiological (and consequently also psychological) elements typical of a specific embodied individual.
It is not to be confused with the term 'personality', even if it is closely related to what the character of the individual is. The personality, in fact, is considered as the way in which the individual puts into action his character base in dealing with the experiences that arise in the course of life in the physical world and is in turn closely linked not only to internal elements (degree of evolution, understanding of acquired conscience, genetic predisposition etc.) but also to external elements (environment, social influences, experiences faced and so on).
If you have any other doubts, I am at your disposal.
