Emotion: definition and origin [A53]

From what I have heard in the last few meetings and even outside of the meetings, I seemed to notice that you are not clear on what an emotion ultimately is.

Now emotion, you know, belongs mainly to the astral body, one could say that it is a sense of the astral body. But what does it mean that it is a sense of the astral body? Why are they called senses? Because they have the task of perceiving, of transposing what happens within the physical plane and which directly concerns the individual.
The same thing applies to the definition of emotion as a sense of the astral body. But how does emotion reach the astral body? In what form does it come, how is it made up, what is it?

What is an emotion?

It certainly can't be anything other than one vibration, as you know that all the matter that makes up Reality is as it is because it is made up of the vibrations that pass through it and which, in some way, structure the matter of the various planes and then give the multiplicity of forms.

Now, when a certain type of vibration arrives on the astral plane, the astral body that comes into contact with this vibration, through its senses, is able to perceive it. And just as there is a character and a personality which affect the way of perceiving the individual incarnated on the physical plane, in the same way personality and character typical of that individual have the ability to induce the astral matter of that individual's body to react in a certain way instead of another, that is, it changes its perceptive possibility, changes the use of the sense that the astral body possesses.

What does this mean? It means that the astral body is continuously crossed by vibrations coming both from the physical plane returning towards the akashic body and from the body of consciousness going towards the physical body. But not all perceptions, not all the vibrations that pass through the astral body are always received or perceived with primary importance by what is the sense of the emotions of the astral body.

This because? Because the constitution of the individual is such that his bodies are structured in such a way as to be ready to perceive, to receive, with the senses of the various bodies that he possesses, only that type of vibrations that best suit or are suited to his developmental needs.

Q – Would it be like ultrasounds on the physical plane, which we don't hear even if they are there?

Exactly, and this happens because you don't have the right senses to perceive them, while for example a dog perceives them. The same thing also applies to what concerns emotions: within the astral plane, with your astral body, you perceive only those emotions that in some way have vibrations that resonate or contrast violently with yours.

Q – Is there a link in this discussion with what will then be our emotional reaction? That is, if our astral body is constituted in such a way as to perceive only some emotions, will this necessarily have an impact on what will be the emotional reaction and therefore the manifestation of the emotion?

Without shadow of doubt, although I must specify that it is not that he perceives only some emotions, he perceives some more strongly, of others he perceives their presence but the vibration by which they are brought into contact with the astral body, not being in harmony with evolutionary needs of the person, does not resonate, and is not perceived with an intensity or urgency that requires particular attention on the part of the individual.

Then a perception exists anyway, just as on the other hand with your physical body you perceive many things that do not reach your consciousness because they do not require your attention. The same thing happens for the astral body: you perceive the vibrations of emotions, but you make a selection between those that serve you most and those that are of no use at the moment, to move your vibrations towards understanding.

Q – Does this “moving” always happen by analogy of vibrations?

Yes, of course. This is very typical of the matter of the various planes. Only vibrations that vibrate with vibratory cycles, let's say for simplicity, "in unison" can interact with each other: if the vibratory cycles are very distant they continue to vibrate without influencing each other.

The astral body, therefore, is constituted in such a way as to be able to perceive the vibrations which he then recognizes as emotions. Where do these vibrations come from? Obviously they have different origins.

Origin of vibrations recognized as emotions

Meanwhile, without a shadow of a doubt, a flow of vibrations comes from the Akashic body, because the requests of the Akashic body, as you know, pass through all the densest matters to manifest themselves on the physical plane, therefore they also pass through the astral body.

Another part of vibrations come from emotional responses to situations that the individual is experiencing, since situations have a connotation for theIo of the person, and thus opposite vibratory reactions are provoked which, returning towards the akashic body, cross the astral body again; also in this case the astral body can perceive these emotions.

And then there's a vibration beam missing, let's see if you're good enough to spot it yourself. There are the "emotionally" characterized vibrations that come from ego reactions. The Ego, reacting to situations, or trying to block, or trying to keep the points that it deems important to gratify itself or to hide itself, causes vibrations in its turn.

These vibrations pass through the entire ego, therefore they also pass through the astral body, and this means that, within the astral body, there is a continuous perception of vibrations coming from different directions, with different impacts, and with different functionality.

  1. Over time I have learned to recognize and distinguish the color of the emotions that I once suffered unawarely.
What awaits me now is knowing how to recognize the origin of that emotion. I have in mind an episode I experienced with a strong emotion and yet I couldn't say whether the origin was mostly egoic.
