Life in the present and the ego [IF32focus]

But have you ever wondered, brothers, who is it that lives in the present?
Who is living this "now" that you discussed at the meeting? Ask yourself for a moment and see if you can answer this question; indeed, I will make it more precise: in what era does theIo, you think? Rodolfo

D - In the present.

Certainly: the Ego, children and brothers, cannot live other than in the present because, as you remember - it arises from the collision of the various bodies you possess with respect to the experience that the individual lives and, therefore, always and in any case lives in the present. Rodolfo

Q - I wanted to ask you: is this present the present that lasts a lifetime as an incarnate?

The present of the Ego lasts the whole life of the incarnate, certainly, also because when there is no longer any incarnation on the physical plane, one cannot properly speak of the Ego as one of its components is missing, right? Therefore the ego cannot be other than on the physical plane even if it is determined by various components. Scifo

D - In a later life there will be a different ego.

Who will live "his" present! But this I have said that lives in the present, so why do we come to tell you to live in the present? "Here falls Scifo", you say!

D - Perhaps because the mind has the power to project into the past or the future through memory or imagination.
D - If we are here physically at this moment it is because we have to have the experiences that we need at this moment.
D - Living in the present means perhaps living the feel of that moment?

They are all parts of the explanation but they are not the whole explanation. In reality these things are simple to understand: just apply logic and remember what we said in the past and you can understand the various mechanisms, the various things.

We have said that the I, this ghost, is made up of the clash between external reality, experience and the bodies that make up the individual - let's say it for the umpteenth time -: physical, astral and mental.
Then: the physical body - as I - lives in the present and on this there is not shadow of doubt because every physical pain the individual feels when he has it, every joy he feels while he has it, every shiver of cold, every trickle of sweat he feels while he has it, so he undoubtedly lives the present .

The astral body he lives his desires and lives them in the present, because every desire is in the present as it is lived in the moment in which it is desired, right? But there is a peculiarity (beyond the time lag between the various planes of existence, which I mention only in passing so as not to complicate things too much), there is a difference: the astral body has the possibility of desiring or of regret, that is, he has the possibility of giving a double or even multiple connotation to what his desire is: he can regret, and therefore wish to have something he had already had in the past, or he may wish to have something that could have in future.
Here, therefore, he lives his desire in the present, but projecting it, at times, into the past or into the future. There is already a difference at this point, you understand very well, with respect to the physical body.

The same, relating it to what thought is, happens in mental body: the mental body also always thinks in the present because for it, while it is thinking, it is the present; but he can think of past things or future things, can't he?

It happens, therefore, that this I that lives in its various components all in the present can be found to be projected simultaneously into the past or into the future.
Look, this thing that seems nonsense, if you think about it, as I have just outlined it, can give reason for many things.

Q - Should we take it as a dynamic moment or as another type of moment?

You see, the present is actually always static, by its definition: with everything changing from moment to moment, in reality every moment is static, it is like a photograph. It is then the mechanism of the physical, astral and mental body, of perception, memory, desire, regret, thought and so on that gives the impression of dynamism because it projects your present into the past or into the future.

Q - Do we do this out of disharmony between the bodies?

Oh, one point in your favor!
When we tell you "live in the present”We don't tell you to wash the dishes being concentrated in washing the dishes (also because concentrating on washing the dishes is a very boring thing!) But we mean that you have to live with all your components attentive to what you are doing and experiencing.

This does not mean accepting "everything" what you do or experience, but it means be aware of what is happening to you at that moment, so be aware that you are washing the dishes but that you would do without them and it would be much better if your husband or your children washed them, that therefore, undoubtedly, you are selfish because you would give another task to do, but for you it would be very better to go for a walk and get rid of those boring dishes ... be aware of this and, then, turn off the water, think if the fact that you wash the dishes after three hours causes harm to someone and, if not, in full consciousness, be aware that you need to go for a walk, go out and drop the plates there to do what you consciously feel is best for you at that moment.

Be careful: not "do what you like best", but do what - without harming others - allows you to have your experiences in the best way.

“And if one has many wishes - says our friend - how do I do it? " Eh, dear, if you have so many many times this happens because the individual hasn't found the right one yetotherwise, if he had found the right one, the most important one, he would have no other. And then, if one has many, it means that the search for him has yet to be completed. Scifo

  1. Living in the present does not mean unilaterally adhering to sensations, also because in this way we will risk identifying ourselves with them, to the detriment of other bodies.
Sensations open to the present, to Being, as they open to the dimension of feeling, which unitarily feels reality.
Then there is born the discernment to which Rodolfo refers in the last part, discernment that comes from feeling: in the balance of the bodies, when there is no dominance of any dimension over the other, awareness is offered.

Allow me to add a consideration regarding the constitution of the ego, says Rodolfo:
"The I, this ghost, we have said that it is constituted by the clash between external reality, experience and the bodies that make up the individual - let's say it for the umpteenth time -: physical, astral and mental."
    And the feeling?
And what is understood and what is not understood?
The ego is not, first and foremost, the reflection of the akasic body, as rightly stated in the post "The human between astral plane and akasic plane [IF31focus]" of 30/11/2020. Then of course the other elements that are mentioned by Rodolfo are undoubtedly necessary, but without the intention that arises in the consciousness we would not even have the "scene" in which that interaction is made possible.
In my view, if the role of the feeling of conscience is debased, there is a risk of falling back into the dualism between self and conscience.

    Thank you.

  2. This awareness that there is nothing other than the Present, that the past or the future constitute illusory escapes, is the process of a lifetime.

  3. It affects that "without harming others".
The continuous call to responsibility is one's own, understood in authorizing the necessary experiences to oneself, and towards the other by oneself.

Here, in the condition of presence, a broad gaze arises.

    Perfect!

  5. It is very clear that living in the present means being attentive to what happens in us, not just to the gesture of washing.
