Simply, they were born from the split caused by some characters, now at the end of their earthly existences, who needed to feel the chosen ones, to feel the best among others, the custodians of the truth: those who by now were part of the chosen ones. and that, therefore, they had the right and the ability to correctly interpret what had been said in the sacred texts in antiquity.
In reality they did nothing but take these poor sacred texts, already battered, previously mistreated by others, and take away what was not good for them, what was not comfortable for them and make them even more rigid, even more incomprehensible, more abstruse and, why not, even more foolish than they could be.
So they tried to act on those people who have the desire to find fixed points to hold on to, fixed points that constitute masks, something that prevents them from seeing the reality around them, so much so that if you, as you often do with more or less patience, listen to them, you will realize that, whatever you can say, in reality you do not scratch their way of being, at least external. In fact, it is their peculiarity to be indoctrinated in such a way that nothing manages to affect, manages to penetrate inside their armor. Slide over.
They interpret the word of God, according to what they have been taught: nothing is possible to deviate from this word of God, interpreted, in many cases, in a truly childish, foolish and fanatic way.
So I'd say that if that was your problem, there is no need to pay them much attention, as it is not possible to penetrate inside the illusions that one creates, if this other person does not want to penetrate them, right?
Certainly one can try to make something understood and perhaps this thing remains within the listener, even if he pretends not to understand, not to want to understand: and then afterwards it will bear fruit. However, many times she uselessly collides with windmills.
