It is not the phenomenon that helps inner change (VS6)

Criteria for choosing one's spiritual path 6
What can most amaze those who observe the people they find themselves walking through, now as spectators, now as actors, the garden of enchantments is the behavior of all these individuals, which often appears totally irrational and beyond any common logic. tending, at times, to fade into fanaticism and the most sinister credulity.
Observe the observer, our children: look at how easily he is willing to believe, without discernment, in what is presented to him with great blasts of fanfare (as long as the trumpets sound with enough force and continuity) by characters to whom, probably, in a common situation, of a common day, of their common life, they would not dare to entrust even a thousand lire. Yet every day gurus with greedy eyes, sensitive eyes with shrewd eyes, mediums with the expression of the "favorite of the gods" deceive those who approach them, stealing their naivety to get to their wallets or, even, as you sometimes read in your newspapers, inducing them to mass suicide.

Observe the researchers of the paranormal: they are almost always intelligent, cultured people with a lot of experience in the field, from whom one would expect a qualified, thoughtful, reasonable guide who can happily cross the meanders of our garden, yet they too often end up with behaving like the most naïve of observers, believing nonsense and endorsing the most foolish of absurdities.
Observe the agents of the paranormal and you will see with me that among the foxes there are lambs: the mother who communicates with her son, the psychic who sincerely believes he is at the service of others, the medium who is truly convinced that he is celestial entities, even the one who is certain to receive messages from intergalactic beings, together with a whole host of creatures who are truly convinced that they have found the alternative solution to their gray daily existence.
Yet, if it is as true as it is, dear ones, that the tree is seen by the fruit it produces, very few juicy apples really turn out to be so when time or reasonableness mitigates the initial illusions.

In these last meetings of this cycle in which I have been assigned the difficult task of pruning some of the charms of our garden, I would like to go into particular precisely in the examination of these three types of characters. My friends, I no longer want to talk about those who defraud knowing they are cheating, about those who write knowing they are lying, about those who believe knowing they are deluding themselves, but about all those creatures who are convinced of the reality of what they are encountering along the paths of the garden of the enchantments and that, precisely for this reason, are the most fragile, most in need of help to transform what can become a burning disillusionment into a new base on which to build their approach with Reality in a different way, bringing back in the most correct direction their thirst for spiritual enhancement.

A question should arise spontaneously: if all these people are in good faith, convinced of what they claim to believe, sure of what happens to them, where is it that everyone, from the researcher to the observer, is wrong?
You see, our children, there are important elements that people who face the unknowns of the mysterious world of enchantments neglect and that, too, are important, really very important.

Let's take the case of the observer.
He approaches the paranormal already in his heart convinced that everything he reads in books or magazines is true and possible with ease, expecting that, out of the blue, the invisible world of the marvelous massively enters his life.
He is, therefore, predisposed to observe things in a not very objective way, so that he tends to attribute even very banal facts to the action of invisible forces or to the intervention of disembodied entities, applying a logic that apparently does not make a wrinkle but which, in reality, it appears such only because it is limited in its amplitude.
In the past we have already talked about the countless cases in which normal events are experienced as exceptional by those who are experiencing them: remember the object that falls from the TV and which was interpreted as the sign of the presence of an entity that wanted to communicate is no more simply, as a consequence of a particular sum of vibrations that changed the condition of equilibrium of the object on the television?
Those who think they have negative forms around them that want to create problems will inevitably be led to believe that the picture that fell from the wall after years of peaceful existence in that position was made to fall by those negative forces and not, perhaps, by days of alternation. between wet and dry weather that caused structural changes in the material of the wall to which the painting was affixed.

And those who approach mediumistic sessions will always tend to believe (even declaring themselves skeptical) that the words that are spoken are sublime, even when the repetitiveness and banality of what is said certainly does not give much credit for depth or originality to these alleged entities. . For my part, if I attended most of these so-called séances, I would move away very quickly looking for other places to feed my thirst for spirituality because banalities and pseudo-affective speeches I would realize that I already hear enough of them in the course of my days talking with The other people.

Why doesn't this happen? Why do people continue to remain linked for a shorter or longer time to alleged low-level demonstrations?
The reasons, of course, are many but some are very common:
- the desire to be part of some situation that distinguishes from others,
- the idea of being able to be the important recipients of phenomena that will end up changing the world,
- the lack of adequate preparation (not only culturally but also emotionally) that can help choose the chaff from the wheat.

In fact, friends, know that if you expect entities, or wizards, or extraterrestrials to change the world you will be enormously disappointed: even supposing that this is possible (and it is not at all so) there has been no teacher in the history of humanity that has changed the course of the world.
At these words of mine I already hear the lively and indignant protests of some of you rising: «And Christ? or the Buddha? Didn't they change the world? "
How wrong you are, dear ones, how wrong your approach to spirituality is, how wrong you are by attributing to others the power and responsibility to change the way of life not only of all humanity but, even, of the individual!

Christ did not at all preach to change the world, because he knew that it would be of no use, he turned to the individual intimate of every man so that he could elaborate the new elements that he had put at his disposal so that, if he really wanted to do it , if he had "felt" that those words made something new and different resonate within him, he could have changed himself in a small or large part, becoming himself the proponent of the beginning of the change within humanity.

What, then, is the best way to observe the occurrence of enchantments (beyond the now constant repeating that the sense of logic and rationality is never lost) for those who "feel" that there is something different and more great of living your days on the physical plane?
To understand that it is not the phenomenon that can become the cause of an inner revolution. Undoubtedly it can attract your attention, undoubtedly it can, for some time, convince you of the reality of what you see but even the finest chocolate ends up losing its initial palatability if it is eaten every day, and at the same way, you would end up realizing that the phenomenon in itself is no longer enough for you and that the security it gave you was ready to collapse when even one of the many phenomena that you thought genuine turns out to be perhaps not a fraud but also just an unconscious production. In this way you will realize that what you are looking for must touch something deeper within you and that it is necessary that this "something" involves your being in its entirety and no longer just your physical perceptions which, as in the end well you know, they are highly deceptive.

If your curiosity is what drives you, "observe" carefully, without preclusions but striving to be objective and without letting yourself be carried away by the idea of what you would like to see because desire is a poor counselor. Time, then, will lead you to search for other ways when your curiosity will be satisfied or disappointed but, in both cases, you will have the tranquility of those who have done everything in their ability to live a new experience in the best way.
If, on the other hand, you want to draw a sweeter fruit, it is satisfying from your observation and not just to satisfy your curiosity, you are more willing to turn to words than to phenomena because they offer you more the possibility of having the situation under control.
If those who frequent mediumistic circles or presumed teachers did not run out of breath towards new words but, sometimes, looked at what has been said over time, they would very frequently discover the presence of clearly contradictory statements which, in the anxiety of having more, always moreover, they have been neglected, or forgotten, or ignored, thus losing the historical and logical sense of the events.
To the observer (but also to the researcher) I would like to leave the words that were said to those who were subjected to the initiation rites of an ancient and now forgotten people along the dusty paths of time:

My son who pursues the Truth,

engrave these words in your heart

so that it does not slip through your fingers,

as elusive as the water of the sea

or the breath of the wind:

may your sight always be sharp and attentive,

never dazzled by lightning or distracted by thunder;

may your wish always be right

so that it is a spur to you and not a chain;

be your mind always ready

to grasp the difference between the wolf and the dog;

may your soul always be willing

to transform herself in savoring life.

It will be like this that you will no longer have to chase after the Truth

but it will be the Truth itself that will meet you.
Baba

  1. This writing suggests the signs to follow along the way.
    Always being objective without the influence of our desires .... how true is that !!!
    In my journey I often find it difficult to recognize and discern, as someone who focuses on his finger and does not see the moon ... .. but I continue to work on it every day that it is given to me because I feel the certainty that it must be so.

  3. The theme of the post pacifies me on a question that I have not infrequently asked myself. In fact, several times I have wondered if it was right to investigate the paranormal to have the opportunity to have contact with loved ones who have disappeared. However, there has always been a prudence on my part, I would say a mistrust that has meant that I do not go beyond the vague intention. After reading Baba's words, I feel that I did well to listen to the little voice that suggested prudence. I know, however, that many, seeking consolation for their pain, rely on characters of dubious honesty.

  4. Experience says that the more I am in contact with myself, the more change occurs and that therefore, inspiration is not to be sought outside ...
