The ego, an illusion that arises from misunderstandings [io3]

The topic at a glance
In his first lives as a human being theIo he is the master, inducing completely selfish actions in order to satisfy his apparent needs. Towards the latter, the individual will no longer be dominated or overwhelmed and will know, if he wants to do so, set aside the thrusts of his own ego when his conscience suggests it to him..

We have previously seen how the ego comes to the fore in the perception of oneself as individuality begins to incarnate in the human form and we have emphasized how important it is, what stimulus it is towards facing experiences. and, therefore, towardsevolution.

From this point of view, the fact that the Ego derives the necessity of its existence (albeit illusory) from the need for provide the embodied being with an opportunity to observe what he has not understood.

It follows that it exists in man from the first moment in which he has something to understand and much not to understand: it, in fact, it is an illusion that arises precisely from his non-understandings that are reflected in the way he faces life and experiences.

I want to emphasize (also in order to dispel erroneous conceptions or misunderstandings of the teaching) that also man in his latest incarnation carried out before definitively abandoning the reincarnational wheel and, therefore, practically at the peak of the evolution that can be reached as a human being, still possesses an ego and, if you think about it, it can only be like this since the mere fact of being immersed in matter means that it must still include some nuance, and this, in turn, means that a small part of illusion and, therefore, of the ego, still existed.

From what then differs, with respect to the ego, man in the first incarnations from man to the last ones?
What is different in the two cases is the way in which man places himself in front of that phantom ego:
- say in the first few lives as a human being the ego is the master, inducing completely selfish actions in order to satisfy one's apparent needs,
- towards the latest the individual will certainly still receive pushes towards selfishness but he will no longer be dominated or overwhelmed by them and he will be able, if he wants to do so, to set aside the pushes of his own ego when his conscience, now well structured, will suggest that it is the right time to go beyond himself in the name of a brotherhood that is no longer only theoretical, but so acquired as to make "doing for others" even more intimately satisfying than "doing for oneself".

“All is One”, say the Masters, meaning by this that you are, in reality, many small parts of that one great All that man calls by millions of different names.
The fact is, our children, that you are not yet deeply aware of it, so much so that you operate a separation of values and intentions between yourself and all the reality that surrounds you, unaware of the fact that the goal is unique for both.

  • Readings for the interior: every day a short spiritual reading of the Cerchio Ifior and the Cerchio Firenze 77, up Whatsapp and Telegram.
  • Summary of the philosophical teaching of the Ifior Circle: HOW CONSCIOUSNESS CREATES PERSONAL REALITY, you can order here the book. If you're reading this and want support, write.

It seems clear to me, dear ones, that in this perspective the concept of illusion end up spontaneously finding its definition and placement: since you are One, what you are and what you do belongs not only to you but also to all the others who, together with you, have traveled, walk or will travel, the path of evolution, just as the opposite is true, and it is your poor understanding (and, therefore, your ego) of how things really are that makes you struggle, suffer, rejoice, desire to possess, bully, trample in order to obtain and so Street.

Furthermore, under the influence of the ego, the illusion is made even stronger by the fact that each of you, in observing the reality that surrounds you, creates a selection among the things, people and facts that present themselves to you, holding to your attention only what affects, in some way, your ego or ignoring or even denying against all logic and evidence, what is not in tune with your selfish needs of the moment.

One thing I would like to tell you, brothers: do not feel guilty for what you are but think that selfish behavior is part of the natural mechanisms put in place to help you understand: being faced with what your ego usually rebels against (and, therefore, faced with frustration or suffering), or with what it tries to make its own (and, therefore, with its needs for satisfaction) does so as to unfold in front of the man who knows how to observe himself what they are the things he has not yet understood, to the point that sometimes even a sincere observation of one's reactions and behaviors in various situations may be enough to lead to the achievement of understanding.

My fear is that the exhortation not to feel guilty may be used by your ego to justify in its own eyes everything it does.
Feeling guilty, I repeat, only serves to make you feel bad, however providing you with such a justification, especially for the mistakes you make knowing you are making them, it will certainly not bring you less suffering; indeed, only for the fact of preventing yours feel to flow in the best way, what you will encounter will be even more painful than a normal sense of guilt as the awareness of having been able, if you wanted, to avoid suffering to you and to others and not having done so will poison your days.

A question that often recurs and that arises spontaneously when we talk about illusion is this: Is the world we perceive subjective?

Do not be misled by this question, friends: what you perceive as human beings is subjective as long as you are immersed in illusion, no doubt, but it is in feelings, in attributing positive or negative connotations to things, people and events, in operating. a choice on what you observe, in thinking that there is luck and bad luck, in deeming someone satisfying or disappointing without taking into account that the needs and realities of others also exist.

However, beneath the layer of subjective perception, your body is made of matter as is that of other men, trees are shaped like trees and stars shine in cloudless skies, so, however, an objective reality exists and, even if it is not exactly what you perceive, yet that does not make it any less true or less existing.

Without shadow of doubt being aware of living immersed in illusion brings with it not indifferent consequences that create a different way of living life.
Those who recognize their illusions see themselves more clearly, thus finding the way to their feelings more easily.

Whoever reveals the illusion by observing himself realizes that his own personality it is illusory, largely born of his own misunderstandings, and with greater certainty he can find the way to make his personality look more and more not like his ego but like his true self.

Those who perceive the existence of the illusion can only come to feel humble in the face of what they believe they are and to know because they become aware that at any moment their illusions can fall and, then, what they knew could turn out to be. a senseless nonsense and what it was would certainly no longer be what it has become.

And, having reached the end of the illusion, he will love with equal love the joys and sufferings he has had, the friends and enemies he has met, the days and nights he has lived, the good and the evil he has gone through, recognizing that in the great stage of the Whole nothing is more important or less important but everything exists because it is necessary and indispensable for the existence of Reality. 1. Through experiences we broaden the circle of awareness of consciousness, when it is sufficiently large then it is there that we will begin to understand that we are not identifiable with our self, but that we belong to something larger that precedes us.
But all this will be possible only by fully experiencing illusory and attachment to the ego

  2. Illusion, if I understand correctly, is not the reality that we perceive with the senses, but our way of thinking, the opinions, the view we have of the facts.
